The opening event is always the jewel of the programs of the European Capitals of Culture. The cultural institutions of Veszprém are preparing with exhibition openings and special guided tours, while at central locations community programs, concerts and colorful gastronomic offer await guests from Veszprém, Hungary and all Europe. The culmination of the event will be a grandiose total art experience occupying the city’s squares, with the title “Shine Veszprém!”. The nearly one-hour production is made up of a perfect harmony of music, dance, light painting and building projections. The large-scale show – which is expected to attract tens of thousands – ends with a street party that lasts all night.
