The success story of the Debrecen Jazz Festival began in 1971, at a time when the city hosted the only regular jazz event in the country. Year after year, the hosts strive to enlarge and enhance what they accomplished, so a few years ago they merged the original festival with the Wine Carnival that was also already a success, and created the Debrecen Wine & Jazz Days.
